According to the timeline of project activities, it was time for a multiplier event in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized by the Local Development Agency Prozor-Rama.
Local Development Agency Prozor-Rama organized the event as an info day with the presentation of the results so far: O1 Interactive E-book “Eco-social entrepreneurship analysis: needs, obstacles and good practices”, O2 Educational production e-book “Gamified eco entrepreneurship education”, and briefly O3 Interactive web platform Eco-SE-E-lab; through PowerPoint presentations, presentation of example of local eco-social enterprise, playback of video interviews, and playing games in groups.
Info day was held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the “Zaum” restaurant in mountain village Zahum in Prozor-Rama Municipality and it was also a part of Erasmus+ days.
Our info day gathered 45 participants, 34 of whom belong to the target groups of the project from the area of our municipality (Prozor High School, Public institution “Center for Social Work”, Public utility company “Vodograd”, Rowing Club Rama, Prozor-Rama Municipality, “Provita” Cooperative, Association “Glas”, Association “Hereditas”, Association “Experience Rama”) and 3 of them belong to our local media – radiostation and web portal (Radio Rama, Ramski Vjesnik). In addition to the representatives of the target groups, there were also 6 employees of the Local Development Agency Prozor-Rama and 2 employees of CEDRA Split on the info day.
The event started with the director of the Local Development Agency Prozor-Rama, Danijel Burečić, who greeted everyone, thanked them for coming, and announced the next speakers, Tomislava Vladić and Jelena Nikolić who prepared presentations and presented the results of the project so far.
They presented: two e-books with the goals and layouts of both documents, the concept of eco-social entrepreneurship, research on the current state of eco-social entrepreneurship in partner countries, eco-social enterprises in partner countries – a screenshot of the layout from the book, the concept of gamification, game-based learning, entrepreneurial education, the current situation regarding the methodology of digital gamification and the digital educational methodology of learning by example in teaching young people about entrepreneurship topics, gamified digital educational resources, tools and activities that teach and promote social and eco-entrepreneurship for young people in partner countries (examples of good practice), a collection of scenarios for the development of tools and activities of gamified educational resources that teach and promote social and eco-entrepreneurship of young people.
As mentioned before, part of the presentation of O1 results was also the presentation of a local example of an eco-social enterprise – Cooperative “ProVita”. The cooperative was presented by Marija Beljo, president of the cooperative’s assembly and one of its founders. Marija highlighted the most important information about the cooperative: The idea and history of creation, mode of operation and most famous products, donors and partners.
Furthermore, part of the presentation of O1 results was the reproduction of video interviews recorded with young people from the project’s partner countries and with public institutions and private companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
After the “O3 Interactive web platform Eco-SE-E-lab Educational production e-book” presentation, there was work in groups where the participants were divided into two groups. The participants played the game “Save the Green Zone” prepared by the coordinator of the BC4ESE project – CEDRA Split through the activities of O3. Employees of the Local Development Agency Prozor-Rama and CEDRA Split monitored the work in groups and directed the game when necessary.
The participants showed interest and attentive listening for all the presentations as well as the video interviews, especially because of the video interviews participants from our municipality ((Prozor High School, Public utility company “Vodograd”, Cooperative “ProVita”). Also, they showed good teamwork and a desire to learn through working in groups.
At the very end of the event, after playing the game in groups, the participants were given a short questionnaire to fill in on the project’s topics. Analyzing the questionnaire, it can be concluded that for most of the participants, this info day was their first contact with the project topics and that most of the participants think that the presented tools can be a useful, interesting, and motivating way of learning for young people and those who work with young people. They rated the info day as interesting and useful, a very informative and excellently organized event, which was an excellent opportunity for new information, knowledge, and networking.
Two teachers of the economic group of High School Prozor who were present with the students, Dragana Burečić and Marijana Marić, left us the following comment:
“Your project is an example of good practice both in the private sector and in education. Some concepts that you presented today are partially known to the students from earlier, but they are not sufficiently applied in the teaching process. We hope for future cooperation and the involvement of students in the direct work of creating projects related to this topic. We thank you for the invitation and look forward to seeing you again.”
On behalf of the students, Ivan Bilić, a 4th-grade student in the Hospitality and Tourism Technician course, told us his impression:
“At the info day, you presented an issue that is discussed a lot today, which is garbage disposal. You also pointed out the fact about the need to educate the population. The method of learning through games was not used before, and I think that nowadays both children and adults will broaden their horizons about it. I like that the info day, in addition to talking and presenting, also used the approach of active participation.”
We are grateful to all the participants for their arrival and active participation, as well as to our colleagues from the project for their support in the organization.
